When it comes to dining out, we like to keep it casual. Below are a number of our favorite spots, but if you prefer something more formal or upscale, there are also many great places to go!
Lee Be Fish: Located in Old marco, this is for sure our favorite fish stop on the island. Yellow Tail Snapper, Black Grouper, Mahi Mahi... you name it, it's great. Try the combo with rice & beans... Chipotle would be so lucky to have something this good! They also sell fresh fish.
Salty Dog: Best Food happy hour on the island... get the fish tacos! For dinner, we split a Wedge Salad and add two grilled pieces of Grouper for a very reasonable price... best deal on the island!
Dolphin Tiki Bar: An outdoor waterside bar and restaurant located behind The Anglers Cove Condo's. Enter just before Rose Marina and park as close to the water as you can. Try the Grouper Tacos and split plate with beans & rice on the side.
CJ's On the Bay: CJ's is famous for their great food and Thursday night live music! Get there early for the Happy Hour drink specials!! The upside down nachos make a great late afternoon snack.
Mango's Dockside Bistro: Casual Dockside Dining in the popular Esplanade Shopping Center. Good happy hour food choices. Try the French Dip.
Marco Island offers two main public beaches which are very popular as well as a few other beach access points.
Tigertail Beach located on Hernando Drive is a vast, sprawling, and picturesque beach on Marco Island with excellent amenities. It is the most popular beach on the island and the perfect place to enjoy a long scenic walk or seashell gathering, as you’ll find plenty of them on the shore. This beach is open from 8 a.m. to sundown every day and has a daily parking fee.
The South Marco Beach Access is the second public beach on Marco Island, and it is located on South Collier Boulevard with the parking lot at 930 Swallow Ave. Known to be less busy, this is a good option if you're looking for more beach space to spread out. It is also open from 8 a.m. to sundown and offers some facilities like restrooms and a 67-space parking lot, and it also has an daily parking fee.

If you don't want to kayak the canals everyday, check out one or more of these great Marco Island area activities!
Golf Course: Check out Golfnow.com or Teeoff.com for tee times at most of the nearby public tracks. During the off-season, you can get some fantastic rates on tee times... if you can take the heat that is!
Beach Fun: On the main beach, you can rent jets skis, parasails, kayaks, etc. At Tigertail, you can rent kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boards!
Airboat rides: Don't be afraid, the Gators won't get ya! Venture down Tamiami Trail toward Everglades City to find a number of airboat ride vendors. We prefer Captain Mitch, but have heard they are all very good.
Boat Rentals and Cruises: Check out Rose Marina for boat rentals, gulf cruises, and other fun excursions.
Marco Island also has an activities schedule throughout the year. Often they will have events at the band shell or just in the park, including a Farmer's Market on Wednesday's from November thru March.
